Alison Findlay

English Teacher, EAP Practitioner, and IELTS Instructor

I hold a CELTA qualification from Cambridge English and I’m passionate about helping students unlock their potential for communication in English.

With more than 7 years’ experience, I teach general English to learners of all ages and levels, and I specialise in helping students achieve success in academic English.

Before embarking on a teaching career, I earned a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Kent in England, and this was followed by a career in the pharmaceutical industry.

As a certified IELTS instructor, I understand the exam format and scoring criteria, and I can equip students with the test-taking strategies and language skills necessary to achieve their desired IELTS band score.

I hold a Certificate in Online Tutoring and provide courses in academic and general English that are interactive, flexible, AND personalised, and which incorporate a wide variety of resources and activities.

Location

Based in Switzerland, I provide online English tuition.

Face-to-Face tuition can be provided at the workplace, where practicable.

My Teaching

I use a variety of tools and resources to create courses that are relevant and dynamic. My goal is to provide engaging lessons and a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, exploring the language, and directing their own learning.
